Hi there! My name is Heather Jones, but I often go by the name Violet- which reflects my love for the color purple. I am most importantly a wife and mother, but I am a designer as well. I am the owner of a small Paper & Design Studio, Viva la Violette. I started out with a paper shop on Etsy in 2008, and have since expanded my business to offer more handmade paper goods and custom blog themes. I write about ways to customize your blog, DIY projects, balancing work with mommyhood, running a small business, Alice in Wonderland, and my love for all purple things.

I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Visual Arts- Computer Animation, and I have been designing websites since 2000.  I traded my job as a video game artist to create my own design studio, and I truly love what I do. (Although I sometimes miss having my hand in the art of video games!)  I have a special love for paper & print, but my true passion lies in creating digital designs on the web.

In my (very limited) spare time, I enjoy taking my son, Dax, to playdates,  playing video games with my hubby, and curling up with my Nook.  Some of my other favorites are: letterpress, paper goods, glitter, water slides, iced coffee, chicken fried rice, and pasta. We also have a puppy, Piper, a very fat cat named ‘Little Love’ and two fish tanks.
