I’ve been wanting to replace my desk for a very long time now. I’ve had it for a couple of years, and it was originally an L-shaped desk. It’s made of glass and metal, and I’ve been haunted by the thought that Dax *could* break the glass with a toy/cup/etc. If that would have happened, my two flat screen monitors, along with everything else on my desk would come tumbling down- onto my computer! There is no IKEA anywhere in sight (groans), and although I had found a desk on the IKEA website that I liked, the shipping would have cost twice as much. Um, no thanks! So, I began searching locally for a desk. And found nothing, absolutely nothing. I was going for a clean, modern look- and I knew I wanted the desk to be white. Well, thanks to my brilliant BFF- I found it on Overstock.com. And the shipping? $2.95. =)
The desk arrived late yesterday, and my loving husband built it after a long day of work. I say ‘built it’ instead of putting together, because this thing took over 2 hours to complete. It arrived in two huge boxes, weighing over 75lbs. But, here it sits.. and it’s beautiful!!!
I thought I’d post a design board for my new desk. I spend a LOT of time at my desk, so of course I want it to look nice. I’ve picked out some things that I really like, and I already have a few of them…
1- Mac Keyboard
I’m a PC gal all the way, but I will admit that this Mac Keyboard is more eye-pleasing than any other keyboards out there. I bought it a few months back, and I still love it!
2- Plateau Gloss White Desk
I needed a desk that would have storage, and be large enough to put many other things on. I keep a ridiculous amount of stuff on my desk…
3- Crosley Purple Kettle Classic Phone
It’s shiny, purple, and old timey. What more could I ask for from a phone? This is my next purchase =)
4. Pantone Mug- Lavender
Funny thing is, I don’t drink coffee. Well, not hot coffee in a coffee cup- I like iced coffees! I will definitely use this for a pen holder.
5. Wacom Tablet
There’s no getting around it, I have to have this on my desk. But! Since I won’t be using the keyboard shelf in the middle of the desk, I may tuck this away there.
I’ll post pictures once it’s all set up!
