The ‘Big Boy’ Room

I guess it’s not a secret anymore- Dax is no longer a little baby. When I ask him if he’s a ‘little baby’ he vigorously shakes his head no. When I ask him if he’s a ‘little boy’, I get the same thing. When I ask him if he’s a ‘big boy’, he does nothing- so I’m assuming this means yes in his case.

His room was decorated from head to toe in Snoopy, moons, and stars. It was all light blue and babyish. I’ve been thinking for a few months now that it needed a re-do. But a re-do meant saying goodbye to my little baby, and I’ve finally come to terms with that.

At the moment, Dax is completely obsessed with Thomas the Train and Wow Wow Wubzy. I did see a Thomas bedding set at Target, but it was honestly just a bit too bright for my taste. I wanted to find something that would mesh well with his current wall colors, but still be fun and colorful.

It’s also not a secret that I’m in love with robots! I used to talk to Dax in this crazy robot language, which consisted of ‘beeps’ and ‘boops’, and my husband wanted to kill me. LOL. I like to make up nicknames and sing crazy songs, and talk funny to Dax. Before Dax, I did similar things to my fat c
at, Little Love- he’s luckily off the hook now though =)

I came across a robot bedding set, and I instantly knew what I wanted to do with Dax’s room. It’s bright and robotic- but still has light blue in it to coordinate with the walls. Dax loves it, and calls them ‘bobots’. It’s a work in progress, but I thought I’d post what I have going on so far.

So what do you think? I still have quite a few things to get, including a rug and lamp. I’ll post pictures once everything is bought and in place =)

I LOVE the robot idea! Eek! When we moved it was the perfect time to transform Bug’s little girl room with little frogs into a bigger girl room with owls and trees. It was hard, but I got over it surprisingly quickly. I’m sure you’ll be fine!
